No matter which country you're in,
"Southern" usually reminiscent of a feeling of the vacation, holiday, country style and a place that's away from the hustle and bustle;
such as Provence in Southern France, Kenting in Southern Taiwan, Alfriston in Southern England...
Seeing a huge meadow, wheat farm and mansion is a lot easier on the Southern side than the Northern side.
It’s amusing to observe the national-scale rule of thumb that
“things in the south (that is, in Texas) are bigger”
in such a small village.
